Lets Get Rid Of Cellulite

The fact that cellulite isn't a medical condition is no consolation to the millions of women who find it a problem. Yet because it is such a shared concern to so many, there is a lot of research and money spent on developing treatments to get rid of these unsightly lumps and bumps. A lot of cellulite treatments can be misleading - many women don't realism the effort they have to put into applying a cream, or giving themselves massages every day, for their treatments to remain effective.

The fact is, there is no cure for cellulite, and researchers really don't know the cause of it. A number of theories have been proposed, including toxins, water retention, changes to the fat cells, and changes to the connective tissues in the affected area. Heredity is believed to play a large part, as is poor choices with regards food and exercise. Many people working in the beauty field believe it is a combination of these factors.

Treatments range from the more expensive salon treatments like body wrapping, endermologie, and mesotherapy, to home treatments like cellulite creams, massage devices, and suction cups. Many supplement manufacturers also have cellulite treatments, one example being cellasense. Can these cellulite treatments really work?

Salon Treatments

Salon treatments include mesotherapy and endermologie, as well as countless creams, wraps and massage. The treatments endermologie and mesotherapy last longer, but are still temporary. Unfortunately, they are also more expensive. Whilst it may seem a contradiction that something can have both lasting yet temporary effects, it's all relative. Compared to other forms of cellulite treatment, the effects of these two can seem to last a long time. After the initial course of treatments, you may only need follow-up treatments every month or every few months. Compare this to the fact that for creams you need to use them continuously to maintain their effect.

Whilst you can purchase single mesotherapy and endermologie sessions to try them out, you need about 10 treatments to get the full effect. It can take two to three weeks before any change in your cellulite is seen.

Home Treatments

Home treatments usually encompass the many contouring creams on the market, and a number of body wraps and massagers that are available for home use. Cellulite creams only work as long as you use them. Massage devices may have a longer lasting effect as they stimulate blood and lymph flow. The body wraps vary. Most of them contain herbal ingredients, and may or may not truly work.

You'll need to invest either time or money, or both, to see any improvement in your cellulite. For many women, salon treatments are not a viable option, given their expense. Fortunately, you can buy some great home cellulite creams and wraps that are just as effective as their salon sisters. And creams like avon cellulite cream can also help you lose a couple of inches. Mesotherapy and endermologie have more long lasting effects though. And even with those that have a temporary effect, this can still be significant in the short term, making them ideal for when you have a holiday, or a special event.
